Dake Onsen (Hot Spring)

Dake Onsen

Dake Onsen (hot spring) is a famous hot spring located at the foot of Mt. Adatara.

It is located at the foot of the mountain about 1,500 meters above sea level and is a hot spring resort with acidic spring water quality that is rare in the whole of Japan.

It is said that Dake Onsen was discovered when Sakanoue no Tamuramaro (758-811) came to the area as an expeditionary Shogun.

On both sides of Himalaya Boulevard, the high street of Dake Onsen, there are various types of inns and hotels according to your preference, providing regional cuisine, sake and accommodation in a comfortable environment. As it is on the Mt. Adatara route, many visitors enjoy day-trip bathing after having enjoyed the outdoors such as mountain climbing Mt. Adatara.
